On-site machining service

For mobile production, repair and maintenance

Thanks to our portable milling machine series (PM-Series), we are able to machine very large components by milling and 3D printing.

This machine was designed to detach the strut kinematics with the icosahedron frame from the supporting surface. This allows the machine to be positioned anywhere on the component to be machined.

This machine achieves the machining center’s similar machining accuracies while maintaining flexibility.

The 4 Steps of on-site machining

From the analysis to the on-site machining with our portable milling machine

1. Pre-work

Mobile CNC machining is a process that is very efficient in terms of repair or overhaul of very large components. Dismantling large defective parts, shipping and repair time can be a significant cost and time commitment for the operator of the equipment. Likewise, the remanufacturing of such components is also very costly. This workflow of on-site machining is intended to help you make your decision.

2. Spindle Unit

Preparations for machine transport are underway. Our mobile CNC machine, the PM-Series, was meticulously crafted for seamless transportation, facilitating air freight within AMJ containers or trucks. Naturally, the transport includes the control cabinet, essential cabling, and the machine frame, ensuring a comprehensive relocation process.

3. On-site

For on-site mobile processing, we require equipment for unloading: an 8-ton-capacity forklift with extended forks or a 5-ton-capacity overhead crane. An electric connection of 400V, 50Hz frequency, 32kVA load, and 63A fuse protection is necessary. Also needed is a 6-bar air pressure supply and optionally, a network connection for remote maintenance. These specifications ensure smooth machine setup and functionality, allowing efficient utilization at your location.

4. Machining

Upon completing prior steps, CNC machining begins overseen by a skilled machinist, ensuring comprehensive processing. A laser scanner measures parts, ensuring high precision. Assistance may be needed to relocate the machine or component if continuous machining isn’t feasible in one spot. After successful milling or additive processing, the machine is disassembled for further use. This systematic approach ensures efficient CNC operations, maintaining precision and adaptability in the machining workflow.
